The Rooms & Booking

The resort has spacious garden and second-floor rooms. Each room includes outdoor space, a couch, fridge, and a luxurious bathroom.

We have a limited number of family suites for pre-wedding events. If not previously arranged with us, you and your guest will be placed in a premium suite with a balcony or garden terrace from the 19th to 21st.

If you only plan to stay from the 19th to 21st, no booking is needed; we will assign you a room if you RSVP on time.

If you want to stay for up to 3 days before or after those dates, the hotel offers a rate of €325 per night. To book, please email reservas@praiadocanal.pt and mention the Chilson-Carroll wedding.

The hotel boasts a beautiful spa with sauna, steam rooms and rain showers.

We will have a select menu of treatments available and booking will be available shortly.

There is also a 24 hour Gym

Faro Airport (FAO)

For the shortest drive from the resort (around 1 hour) this regional airport serves all of the southern coast of Portugal. Known as the Algarve. We recommend flying Air Portugal where there are regular routes from Boston, New York and other international cities which connect through Lisbon.

If you are looking for an easy going beach resort or an adventure into the bengal caves we recommend staying a couple of extra days in the Algarve.

We love Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort for the cliff views, poolside lounging and bustling town of Carvoeiro.

We recommend doing a tour of the Benagil caves!

Lisbon Airport (LIS)

About a 3 hour drive from the resort, flying to/from Lisbon offers an opportunity to explore! If you intend to drive from Lisbon we recommend you take a couple of days to explore the city, and nearby Sintra. You can also split up your drive by heading to the Comporta area, known as the Hamptons of Portugal.

Flying to Lisbon and spending time may be cost effective. Flying to Faro from Lisbon can be as low as $50 per ticket.

If you do intend to take the roadtrip between Lisbon and the resort, we highly recommend you only use Sixt.

Car Rental

 IMPORTANT: while there are many rental car options (that may be cheaper) we do not recommend selecting just any. We have had multiple issues with rental car companies except Sixt. (Including sitting by the side of the road for 6 hours!)

If you do intend to take the roadtrip between Lisbon and the resort, we highly recommend you only use Sixt.

Caution, Bumpy Road Ahead!

Praia do Canal is a very beautiful, modern resort, however it sits on a nature preserve. Thus, some of the roads are less modern. The last five minutes of your drive up to the resort will be on a bumpy, pot hole filled dirt road. We highly recommend an SUV and taking it slow. See the adventure that awaits in our video here.

You may be wondering about estimated costs for traveling. We've done this a time or two so we put together a helpful breakdown of costs. This includes passport costs, flights from the Northeast and rental car.

Please note, there will be variability in prices! (Keep in mind the cost of the hotel and breakfast/dinner will be taken care of on the 19th-20th)
